Rendezvous with O'Neill

With the camera secured from Sierra 2, Sergeant Michael "Psycho" Sykes told JSOC he wasn't leaving the area until he found the location of former Delta Force teammate Sam O'Neill. The tone of his voice was rather convincing. The fact that Psycho just managed to take down about 30 Korean People's Army (KPA) troops in less than 10 minutes was proof that he was up to the challenge.

JSOC triangulated the signal off O'Neill's position at the same time O'Neill made radio contact. Based upon the signal, he was about 400 meters away from Psycho's current position.

There were more KPA troops in the vicinity, but Psycho planned to use his speed to get to O'Neill. After all, it only would take one decent shot to knock him down, lose control of that camera and not see O'Neill again ... unless it is in some prison reserved for guys who enjoy destroying a bunch of KPA soldiers. Revenge would certainly be painful.

His plan was challenged when he saw a team of 5 more KPA troops coming his way down the river. Psycho thought about going cloak and just sneaking away, but then didn't want to have to deal with these guys in the wide open when the invisibility wore off. So he took position near a rock, loaded his FY71 and waited. He waited for them to come into range.

Once the KPA were less than 15 feet away, he opened fire. There was merely two or three seconds from the time the first soldier fell and the last one was hit. In the end, their bodies rested in the cool water that led the way toward O'Neill.

The 400 meter run seemed like nothing, with no KPA troops in site. The terrain became elevated and O'Neill was about six or seven meters above Psycho's current position. Just ahead, Sam O'Neill waited for his buddy, his escort, Sergeant Sykes.

As they finished climbing the hill, they noticed the harbor above matched the area at the center of the photos contained on O'Neill's plane, Sierra 2. The area was dark and the cool evening skies produced a hazy fog all through the area.

What was going on down below? Psycho and O'Neill hoped they were about to find out.

Project 914 Discovered

The area was certainly the same area of interest of the photos taken by Sierra 2 earlier that evening. The photos were in the process of being downloaded to JSOC when the missile hit the left engine, causing the jet to crash. Now, all the photos and the camera were in the hands of Psycho, but they still needed to get the data to JSOC.

It appeared that the dock contained a large crane of some sort and a lot of cargo space. Perhaps, similar to the International Arrival stockyards at various port facilities around the world - except this island wasn't really known for importing and exporting.

This harbor was active, with both cargo and firefights between at least two different groups. Were one of the groups part of the mission that O'Neill, Psycho, Nomad, Jester, Prophet and Aztec were members of? Or were they the third guest to the party?

The crane was moving and it was moving a very large box of cargo. But how was the cargo leaving the area?

Psycho could not believe his eyes! The cargo was being transported onto a Project 914 Cargo Sub! Perhaps Delta Four class. Talk about an antique. That technology dated back to the 1990s and was part of a technology sale from the old USSR to the Koreans. Just what were the soviets thinking back then?

So, did the Project 914 sub bring the cargo to the island or was it about to move the cargo off the island? Either way, what could be so important or so super secret that the KPA would go through that much trouble to transport whatever is in that crate?

Both O'Neill and Psycho realized that the contents of the crate had to be a key to all of this, because why else would the KPA load up this island with soldiers and not bat an eye at destroying any form of resistance in the area.

Time to move on. Walking isn't an answer long-term, so the two soldiers continued forward until they located a couple vehicles ahead.

One lone KPA soldier was near by and relieving his bladder. So, Psycho knocked him out cold with a powerful punch to the jaw. When the solider would eventually awake, his pants would have a certain odor about them and the two vehicles he was guarding would be missing.

O'Neill was now safe and the camera was secured. Next step, get to the rally point.
