Lee v Psycho
Lee had two other soldiers with him, both dawning Nanosuits. Neither were still near by. O'Neill figured Psycho was catching up with them, but why would leave him there unarmed to face Lee alone?
Just as Lee began to aim and fire toward O'Neill's head, Psycho enabled the strength mode of his Nanosuit and grabbed Lee by the arm.

Lee was far from ready to take on Psycho and took quite a pounding from Psycho as the punches flew at record pace. Psycho was taking out every ounce of frustration he had inside him, from chasing Lee around this island through the heat, the snow, the ice and the darkness. Not to mention a battle with a bunch of alien machines that no one will ever believe without absolute proof.
Within a minute's time, Lee fell hard to the ground, afraid to move - knowing only another set of punches would soon arrive if that became the case.

Psycho instructed O'Neill to get to the VTOL now. The other two KPA troops had been taken care of and it was time to evacuate the area before more of those machines arrived.
What Psycho didn't realize is that Lee was still conscious. He reached for that same electronic device he had used earlier on the cargo sub, to inflict a great deal of pain to Psycho via a defect in the Nanosuit.

Lee hit Psycho and planted the device against his Nanosuit. This time, he wasn't able to get a decent grip on Psycho. After all, Psycho learned from the experience last time and knew how to avoid being vulnerable a second time.
Switching to strength mode, Psycho was able to drive Colonel Lee forward and into the VTOL as the craft lifted off the ground. The rear door remained open as the two soldiers fought over control of the small electronic device. It was "pound cake" time as Psycho used his skilled advantage of being a Delta Force team member to overpower Colonel Lee.
The electronic device fell into Psycho's hands and he pushed it against the Nanosuit Lee was wearing.

The device caused the suit to tighten around Lee's body, the amount of pain was incredible and each ounce was visible in Lee's facial expressions.
He finally fell lifeless into Psycho's arms. This time it was real. Psycho wasn't interested in taking Lee with them, so he tossed him out of the back of the VTOL and onto the ground.

Colonel Lee still remained on the ground, lifeless as the VTOL elevated higher off the ground.
Psycho then tossed that electronic device at Lee. He was certain to alert JSOC about Lee's device and an upgrade to the suit was certainly going to be in the next build for sure.
Psycho began to rest as his apparent battle with Lee had ended favorably.
In the distance, Psycho heard a familiar noise. Sounds like the huge machine is returning, time for O'Neill to get them out of the vicinity!
Departure
After all, Lee and his team stole one of the machines and were planning to reverse engineer the design to build a weapon that could place the Korean People's Army (KPA) into a position of power. The machines were likely not happy knowing one of their devices had been hijacked.

Lee stood upright and turned to the huge machine.

A hole opened under the bottom of the machine. A bluish light began to coat Colonel Lee as he stood in place, obviously too frightened to run or even move away. The glow of the beam intensified greater and great until Psycho was able to see a red ball of fire burst from the position where Colonel Lee was standing.
For all known purposes, Lee was presumed to be no longer living. The Nanosuit can take a lot of damage, but the damage he just witnessed was certainly in the megaton range.
The machines began to set their focus on O'Neill's VTOL. Did they notice the container hanging underneath?

O'Neill instructed Psycho to buckle up and hold on, because they had to evacuate the area now, as quickly as possible.

The VTOL was able to outrun the huge machine with ease. Psycho realized he had finally met the goals of the mission and for the first time, he could relax. The container was secure and Colonel Lee was either dead or not in the best of spirits.
Things would get hectic again soon when they reached the USS Constitution and hooked back up with me (Nomad) to face one of those huge machines head on. I can still recall seeing Psycho sitting on the deck of the ship for the first time when I landed my VTOL on the Constitution. He looked wiped out.
Another benefit of the mission was that Psycho and O'Neill were able to let go of the Code Blue incident which brought me (Nomad) to the team in place of O'Neill four years ago. While O'Neill may have ruined his chances to be on a Delta Force team four years ago, he still proved his value and honor with the actions he performed on this mission
With that gap in the story complete, Psycho, Helena and I continued our quest toward Prophet back on the island to further battle against these machines who entered our world without permission or invitation.

Destroy the Exosuit

JSOC picked up the machine on their radar and within seconds Admiral Morrison ordered all VTOLs back to base. At the same time, hundreds (of not thousands) of the larger machines took to the sky. Now the war had changed from Korean People's Army (KPA) troops being the enemy to a War of the Worlds-type alien invasion. Surely, the evening news would have a much different slant this evening.
With Vulture One-Niner now out of range, Psycho figured it was going to be him against these machines to try and save the container. Psycho realized that staying alive was his primary objective at this point. First things first, was to get out of this tower - as the machines were aware that he was using it as an observation point.
As he moved down the stairs, his radar echoed the voice of Sam O'Neill. O'Neill was back and was there to assist Psycho. O'Neill passed on some vital information as part of their conversation.
A C-18 cargo jet had crashed on the runway earlier in the day. In the cargo area of the C-18 was a container which held a PAX, which is a Plasma Accumulator Cannon - that was truly experimental, but was the only item that contained enough firepower to take down these machines.
With the larger machines flying around the area, they attempted to freeze Psycho in his tracks. However, Psycho weaved a path through ground clutter and KPA troops, focused on the machines above, until he reached his Armored Assault Vehicle (ASV).
The larger machine beamed down an Exosuit machine as Psycho drove toward the crashed jet.

A handful of the smaller machines were hiding in the cargo area of the C-18, but Psycho was able to take them out quickly using his Gauss rifle. Soon, he located the PAX and dropped his SCAR in favor of the experimental gun.
It was now time to face off against the Exosuit, which was the primary target now that the huge machine had left the area. Looking back to the crashed C-18, Psycho was very thankful for this event - which is typically the opposite reaction one has in viewing a crash site.

Psycho ran for cover in the direction of the Exosuit. This thing was just as large as the one he had faced earlier. Only this time, he didn't have support troops assisting the cause. So, this is where the PAX had to prove it's weight and value in battle.
Psycho aimed for the Exosuit and fired the PAX directly at the heart of the machine. O'Neill watched from above, providing updates back to Psycho. It looked like the PAX was working. Just after he fired a shot, he ran for cover while the PAX reloaded and charged back up. Then, he pushed back quickly, aimed, then shot again directly at the heart of the Exosuit.
The process repeated multiple times. Every other time, Psycho was hit briefly by the Exosuit while he attempted to run for cover. None of the hits were strong enough to freeze him, but the hits did require his Nanosuit to heal itself.
Psycho hit the Exosuit one last time and O'Neill alerted that the machine appeared to be taken down.

The Exosuit froze in it's motions and stopped firing back at Psycho. Psycho kept his gun aimed at the machine, just in case there was a secondary source of power that was about to fire into action. Then it happened...

The Exosuit exploded over the airfield with a light blue beam at the heart of the explosion.
The larger machines continued to fly over the airfield, but were not focused on the airstrip. They appeared to be flying in the direction of the USS Constitution - where Nomad (me) was likely planning for battle.
Secure the Container

JSOC indicated that O'Neill was now directly over the area where the container rested. During the entire battle with the Exosuit, nothing came to steal the container. No machines or no Korean People's Army (KPA) troops.
So, perhaps the machines were not aware that the container was still at the airfield. For a second, Psycho wondered if the container was really there, but then he saw O'Neill in his field of view.

O'Neill was directly over the container and confirmed it was still in place. The glow from inside the container continued, so the machine was still inside as well. Soon, the KPA would return to the area, so Psycho and O'Neill had to get moving before anyone arrived.
Pscyho kept the PAX handy, but switched over to the Gauss rifle. Nothing interrupted his track back toward the container. It seemed that everything had been eliminated or scared off by this point.
Psycho watched as O'Neill navigated the VTOL into position. O'Neill then jumped out of the VTOL to greet Psycho. After all, it seemed clear enough and both needed to inspect the container before attempting to lift it using the VTOL.
Psycho thanked O'Neill for his assistance on the mission and the two began to gaze inside the container.

Psycho's Nanosuit flashed blue for a brief second. He realized they were not alone as originally expected. Quickly, he placed the suit into cloak mode while O'Neill continued to gaze at the machine inside the crate.

When O'Neill turned around, he noticed Colonel Lee had returned, with two of his soldiers, also wearing Nanosuits.

It was now time to face off against Colonel Lee and his team. Psycho was unseen at the moment and O'Neill was truly at a disadvantage in not having the honor to wear a Nanosuit.

All Out War
Wait ... oh yeah, there was a KPA chopper patrolling the area as well. Knocking the soldiers out one by one wasn't going to be an option. Psycho had to take down that chopper first. So, realizing this is the point when things get crazy, he pointed his rocket launcher at the KPA helicopter and fire two rockets directly at the chopper above.

The helicopter exploded into a million pieces and the war had began. Psycho grabbed another rocket launcher and fired two shots directly at the Hummer, which had started to move. It was destroyed as well. Of course, that led to the tank having a read on his position, which started to clear out the area with huge mortar shells.
The three ground mounted guns also started their assault of the general area, while some KPA troops headed toward the area on foot. Psycho took a quick look at his original position. Had he stayed in his original location, he would also be in a million pieces as well.

Using cloak mode, Psycho pushed back through the tunnel in order to reach one of the munitions areas noted by JSOC. He used that time to acquire another rocket launcher and charge up on health. There would not be more SCAR ammo in this area, as that is a weapon of the US. Psycho could drop the SCAR and pick up another submachine gun, but the SCAR is the far more superior weapon. The SCAR can not only take down troops near by with accuracy, but it has wonderful long range accuracy as well.
All charged up and armed, Psycho moved back through the area slowly and steadily. He came across multiple sets of KPA troops monitoring the area. He hoped that no one was armed with Nanosuits as well, because his eyes would have trouble trying to depict their suits in cloak mode at this point. I (Nomad) was always the best on Team Raptor using Light Difference Traces (LDTs) to identify Nanosuits in cloak mode. Psycho would certainly agree.
With the path cleared ahead, Psycho was able to approach the ground-mounted guns and the tank from the side. He was unnoticed in his quest at this point. The silencer of the SCAR came in very helpful ... even though the noise of the sphere likely would have been enough. Looking at the tank, Psycho realized that rockets would not take down the tank given all the barricades, so he would have to place explosives instead.

Quickly, Psycho moved toward the first ground-mounted machine gun, only to notice it was empty. Perhaps some of his firepower already destroyed this solider? Going prone, Psycho let his Nanosuit charge back up, then return to cloak mode.
He arrived at the second gunner's spot and sat down behind him. A couple quick shots later, the second gunner was destroyed as well. A couple KPA soldiers arrived, but were taken down quickly. As far as he could tell, the tank and one gunner remained.
The tank's gun was still facing forward, so even if he was noticed dropping the explosives, they could be detonated before the tank could turn toward him. So, Psycho dropped the explosives and headed into the nearby hanger and behind some large protection. He popped up after his suit was recharged, aimed and knocked the final ground-mounted gunner lifeless to the ground.
Quickly he pulled the trigger on the explosives and the tank was destroyed.

The area was now clear of KPA troops and the container was now secured.
Get To The Tower
However, the radio in Psycho's Nanosuit was not powerful enough to accomplish this task. JSOC pointed toward the tower at the airstrip. It should have the power to reach the VTOL. So, Psycho's next objective was to secure the tower. Like his previous tower experience, the tower was not close by and was at the other end of the landing strip.
Psycho made sure all of his weapons were in good shape and that he still had three rockets in his rocket launcher. Another munitions dump was used to reload, that had been previously marked by JSOC on his radar.
As Psycho scanned the area, he noticed the Korean People's Army (KPA) chopper remains burning on the airstrip. That was a reminder of how things started just a few minutes ago.

There was an Armored Scout Vehicle (ASV) parked near Psycho. This might be the perfect vehicle of choice to reach the tower. However, Psycho needed to scan the area first, as tanks and rockets would certainly play into the stability of the ASV.
Quickly, Psycho noticed another tank patrolling the area. JSOC warned that the area could be heavily armed and to use caution. They were correct.

Psycho launched two rockets directly at the tank and it was destroyed in it's place. A few KPA troops came running toward him, who were taken down by the long range power of the SCAR.
Psycho then dropped back to the munitions dump, exchanged rocket launchers and loaded up in the ASV.
He parked the ASV and scanned the area. The tower was a long distance away and he noted more tanks in the area.

Psycho drove the ASV in a criss cross motion across the landing strip - taking out KPA troops with the guns on the ASV or by simply running them over. Then, he would park the ASV under cover, go into prone mode, then use rockets to destroy any heavy machinery that were focused on him.
In the end, the ASV was still in decent shape when Psycho reached the tower.

Inside the compound around the tower, several more KPA troops were guarding the area. The SCAR was the perfect weapon of choice and Psycho cleared the area before heading up the stairs leading to the tower. One KPA troop had a Guass rifle. This might come in handy if Psycho runs out of ammo for his Guass rifle.
With the airfield clear, Psycho reached the tower and the radio.

Psycho began to radio the pilot of the VTOL when he saw something appear in the distance.
He could not believe his eyes.

Get to the Airfield
JSOC used their satellite connections to monitor the container after it left Sergeant Michael "Psycho" Sykes and the burning bridge. Fortunately, the weight of the container appeared to be too much for the torque of the Korean People's Army (KPA) helicopter. As a result, the container was dropped off at a nearby airfield. It was now Psycho's main objective to reach that airfield as soon as possible.
On the way, the expectation for KPA resistance was certainly guaranteed. The KPA knew that Psycho was close by, still alive, and very upset following the death of a US Marine while under his watch. Delta Force members were not fond of the death of fellow soldiers. They were extremely not pleased when death occurred in their presence.
The path to the airfield was mostly under the cover of trees and walled by mountains from the island's natural terrain. Getting there would not be a problem, but Psycho wanted to take out any KPA troops ahead of him to avoid a surprise attack. A group of troops stood on top of a rock formation, watching over the area.

Using the submachine gun in single-fire mode with the sniper scope attached, Psycho quickly knocked down the KPA troops standing on the rock. The sound of his gun shots smacking the KPA soldiers directly in the head were not noticed by anyone in range, due to the noise of that huge sphere and the machinery around the airfield.
Psycho looked at the map in his heads-up display. JSOC had beamed down the image from the sky and the airfield was going to be in range soon.

Psycho did not uncover any more KPA troops along the way. This confirmed his assumption that the sound of the shots were not heard by anyone other than himself and the now un-living KPA soldiers. While inspecting the soldiers, he managed to pick up a sniper rifle and dropped the submachine gun. Certainly, more submachine guns would be available at the airstrip. If not, he could always back-track to this area.
Using the binoculars, Psycho was able to see the entrance to the airfield. It appeared to be heavily guarded. The last thing he wanted to do is try to blast his way through the entrance, alert the KPA that he is on-site, and risk them transporting that container from the airfield.

Psycho noticed another entrance into the airfield. There was a hole in the wall boarding the zone. Large enough for him to slide through, most likely, but small enough to provide cover in the process. However, there was one KPA soldier that had to be taken care of - resting in a watch tower near the make-shift entrance.

A single-shot was all it took and the guard was taken down before he had a chance to react. The noise of the sphere continued to assist Psycho as he managed to continue to be unnoticed by other KPA troops inside the airfield. Time to move toward that entrance.

Psycho managed to slide through the side entrance and now had arrived into the airfield. The area was full of KPA trailers and using cloak mode Psycho was able to move around unnoticed. He did not know what was in the trailers, but he assumed it would be additional ammo, intel and communications gear.
Before moving forward, he needed to find a secure spot to perform some recon over the area. Then, he realized, that watch tower near the entrance might be the perfect spot.
Locate the Container
From the watch tower, Psycho was able to get a perfect view of the airfield and the Korean People's Army (KPA) troops guarding the area. He knew that he would need to take down these troops to have any shot at making it to that container unnoticed. Again, the noise of that huge sphere was providing excellent cover for what Psycho had in mind.
The KPA soldier that was taken out in the watch tower only minutes earlier was also armed with a sniper rifle. So, Psycho was loaded with sniper ammo at this point and the watch tower provided a perfect spot (when in prone mode) to recharge the suit and remain unnoticed at the same time.
So, Psycho enabled cloak mode, focused in on a nearby KPA troop, fired a single shot, then dropped down out of sight to recharge his Nanosuit. He repeated the process over and over. In every case, the soldier fell lifeless to the ground without other KPA troops having a real idea where the shot originated.
Eventually, a couple of troops wondered near the watch tower, but quick shots by Psycho also took them down. Psycho scanned the area and noticed it had been cleared and he had not taken any hits to his health. Certainly, he had to feel as if he were far more like me (Nomad) than himself. As we've always discussed, there is a time to be Psycho and a time not to be Psycho. In those non-Psycho times, one has to be "Nomadian."
JSOC pushed the coordinates of a few munitions storage containers in the airfield. Psycho used that opportunity to exchange his sniper rifle with a new submachine gun. He also made sure he had plenty of rockets in his missile launcher, just in case.
With the area clear he noticed a tunnel that lead him toward a train track and the core section of the airfield. The waypoint indicator showed that the container was in the section ahead. A few KPA troops were taken down as Psycho moved through the tunnel.
Looking back to the sky, Psycho could not help but notice that sphere. The more he looked at that thing, the more he wondered if it would continue to evolve to eclipse the entire island, then the entire planet. He wasn't fond of these visitors.

With cloak mode enabled, Psycho continued to push forward. Up ahead he was acquainted with that mysterious container once again.
This time the container was heavily guarded, not only by three ground-mounted machine guns, but a huge KPA tank. Now more than ever did Psycho wish Strickland and his team of tanks were behind him, because that would make this mission a piece of cake.
Instead, Psycho was alone and he knew that more KPA troops were in the area. Looking up to the sky, he noticed that the KPA had armed the area by air as well.
Things were about to get crazy, as Psycho was about to wage his own personal war against the KPA. Sure, he was totally outnumbered, but he didn't care. That container was his, whether or not Colonel Lee agreed.
Psycho took a few minutes to plan his attack, then said a quick prayer. As I already noted, things were about to get crazy.

Massive Attack!
The container appeared to glow in the swampy skies a bright blue color. JSOC indicated activity was rising on their meters surrounding the area. Most likely, more of those machines were heading in this direction. Time for a massive attack, Psycho thought.

With the machines cleared, the massive attack was over. Psycho planned to check the machines for further intel on their design, but the train again started moving.

Confrontation at the Bridge
Psycho tried to get a read on O'Neill's position, but his radio cry was not returned. Psycho had the explosives planted and held the detonator in his hands. Even if he died in the process, he was going to do everything in his power to keep that crate out of Lee's hands. It seemed like a perfect time to pull the trigger, then try and take out the chopper with the rocket launcher on his back.

To make matters worse, Lee pointed toward another KPA chopper. This one contained a handful of KPA troops and one US Marine. Before Psycho could react, the KPA troops pushed the Marine out of the chopper and directly toward the icy waters below. Psycho reached out and caught the Marine with the strength mode of the Nanosuit enabled.

They hit the bridge as part of the fall and Psycho was able to hold on with his left hand. The Marine was hanging on to Psycho's other hand and the detonator for the explosives was just a few feet away - resting on the tracks. The strength of the Nanosuit faded as the energy drained to zero. Psycho felt the full weight of the Marine hanging on his other arm.
Lee had hooked the container onto his chopper. It was now or never. He instructed the Marine to let go and Psycho jumped up to grab the detonator. He pushed the trigger just before he hit the water below - close to where the Marine had landed.

The train exploded a split second later and Psycho watched from under the water. He quickly swam to recover the Marine and avoid the steel from the bridge as it collapsed around them.
The Marine was motionless. Psycho tried everything he could to bring him back to life, but he was not able to do so. He now regretted forcing the soldier to let go, but wondered if Lee would not have killed them both once the chopper fully secured the container.

Psycho was stunned from the events. He heard the choppers vacate the area, with the container in hand.

Was it too late? Had Psycho missed his opportunity to stop Lee and maintain full control of the container?

Train Ride, Anyone?
Sergeant Michael "Psycho" Sykes was now aboard the train containing the mysterious container that appears to be holding one of the alien things that Prophet and I (Nomad) are fighting inside a huge frozen sphere nearby on the island. Time for a train ride.
When I was a kid, I remember looking forward to summer vacations and a visit to an amusement park in the Midwest portion of the United States. In that amusement park was an Old West train ride that escorted the visitors through a series of trees. Every now and then, the area would open and there would be park workers acting as if they lived their lives in log cabins and villages built in the open areas.
The train path ended up becoming a large figure 8 and when the train arrived the second time, the areas had all been attacked by would-be enemies. At one point the train stopped and the enemies boarded - acting as if they were going to cease the train and take all of us with them. Then, of course, the good guys came and saved the day. Ride was over.
Well, fast forward quite a few years later and change those friendly enemies with a combination of aliens and Korean People's Army (KPA) troops and the goal is still the same. Psycho has to save the day and take care of any of the bad guys surrounding him. Like I wrote before, time for a train ride!
Psycho noticed a few KPA troops near the container and used mounted machine guns to take them out before the train left the station. Looking around, it appeared the train itself is clear. Now, he needed to take out anyone who was trying to take him out ... which he believed would be a lot!
As he approached a set of shacks along the track, he was met with KPA troops forcing hundreds, if not thousands, of bullets at his head. He jumped to another mounted machine gun and cleared the area.

Soon an Armored Scout Vehicle (ASV) approached from behind, with rockets this time aimed at Psycho's head. He spun the gun around and destroyed the ASV after taking a few hits from nearby rocket shots. The Nanosuit healed itself and Psycho was able to continue onward.

The automated train approached a village, loaded with KPA troops. In the far distance, the frozen sphere which contained me (Nomad) and Prophet was in the distance. Psycho hoped to be moving away from that area - not closer to it!
Psycho continued to use the mounted machine gun and some rockets from his rocket launcher to clear out the village as the train continued to roll forward.

Just as Psycho was realizing the effects of handling the situation alone, his radio announced a familiar voice. It was Sam O'Neill, former Raptor Team Delta Force member. O'Neill let Psycho know he was there to assist via the air and began clearing out area ahead of the train.

JSOC was not pleased that O'Neill left his mission to seek and assist Psycho. Just as they started to order him out of the area, the train began to slow - then stop.
This was not a scheduled stop and no one was in the engine car controlling the train. However, this was the perfect opportunity to disable the train permanently and keep it from moving forward up the tracks.
The only bad news, is that the area appears to be crawling with KPA troops! At least O'Neill is assisting from the air ... at least for now.
